Terms of Service
Last updated July 28, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Slated ("we", "us") covering your use of our websites and products, including Slated Flow, Slated Listen, and Slated Study (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Your account
You need an account to use most of the Service. You must provide an accurate email address, keep your password secure, and you're responsible for everything that happens under your account. Accounts are for one person — please don't share your login or let others use your subscription. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you're under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission.
What you upload
You keep full ownership of everything you upload — your documents, slides, images, notes, recordings, and video. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the permission we need to actually run the Service: to store your content, process it (including sending it to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy), and show the results back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You're responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Don't upload material you don't own or have permission to use, and don't upload other people's personal or confidential information without their consent. If you record a meeting or lecture, it's on you to get whatever consent the law where you live requires.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the Service or its output as your own product or service
- Share, resell, or provide access to your account so that others avoid paying for their own
- Copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying models of the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or use bots or scripts to access the Service, or circumvent any rate limit, usage cap, or paywall
- Upload malware, attempt to breach or overload our systems, or access accounts or data that aren't yours
- Use the Service to create anything illegal, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights
- Use the Service to build or train a competing product
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and we may do so immediately where the violation is serious.
Academic honesty
Slated Study is built to help you learn your own material — to summarize, quiz, and explain it. It is nota tool for cheating. Submitting AI-generated work as your own, or using the Service during an exam or on any assessment where it isn't permitted, may violate your school's academic integrity policy. That's your responsibility, not ours, and those policies override anything we say here.
AI output
The Service uses AI models, and AI makes mistakes. Summaries, study guides, flashcards, quiz answers, transcripts, and tutor responses can be incomplete or wrong, even when they sound confident. Always check anything that matters against your original material. We provide the output as is, without any warranty that it's accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose — and nothing the Service produces is professional, legal, medical, or academic advice.
Our intellectual property
The Service itself — the software, design, branding, and everything except your uploaded content and its output — belongs to us. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use it while your account is in good standing. Nothing here transfers ownership of anything to you.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
Some features require a paid plan. Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automaticallyat the end of each billing period — monthly, every four months, or yearly, depending on the plan you pick — until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the billing portal in your account; your plan then stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars and may change, but we'll tell you before a change affects a renewal. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable — though if something has gone genuinely wrong, email us and we'll try to make it right. Free plans have usage limits that we may adjust over time.
Availability and changes
We're a small operation and the Service is provided on an as-available basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and there will sometimes be downtime, bugs, or maintenance. We'll try to give reasonable notice before making a significant change or shutting something down, so you can export what you need.
Ending your account
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. When an account ends, your content is deleted — so export anything you want to keep first.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available"without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output will be accurate.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or missed grades or deadlines. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and, where it meaningfully affects you, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
